Overview

Bar Centrale is an honest Italian restaurant in Makati City that offers a selection of freshly made pasta without compromising the quality.

My Tasks

Bar Centrale is the first branding project I handled as an in-house graphic designer. I designed the brand with the keywords fresh and homemade from scratch, so the logo and elements are my hand drawing.

Logo

The logo is comprised of the word Bar Centrale, tagline of Freshly Made Pasta, and its icon logo.

Iconography

The iconography is Bar Centrale's initials, small caps BC, which reminds us of intertwined spaghetti pasta. The icon can be rotated up to 30 degrees for a more flexible feel.

Colours

As it is an Italian restaurant, I strayed away from using the colours of the Italian flag. I used green as primary, yellow gold for pasta colour, off-white and black for neutrals.

Typography

Recoleta Alt is used for displays and titles while Nunito is for body texts.

Illustrations

There are two types of illustrations used; one is where the strokes are evident to give the from scratch vibe, while the other is a flat vector for better resizing.
